With more than two billion people worldwide watching the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, it was one of the biggest television events of the year. And for those of you that may have watched the royal wedding coverage on CNN, we’re excited to say that our creative team at Stephen Arnold Music composed and produced the custom music for the event. The CNN coverage aired in 190 countries, and the music features top players from both the Dallas and Fort Worth Symphony Orchestras.

We intended the music to capture a sense of anticipation, tradition and pageantry, blended with a fresh, youthful and vibrant sensibility. The instrumentation consists of violins, violas, celli, French horns, trumpets, trombones, piano, and various chapel bells. The theme was composed to the inspiring graphic elements created by CNN’s design team, and all of the music was recorded and mixed at our primary studios in McKinney, TX.

Among all cable networks that aired the ceremony, CNN was ranked #1 among adults 25-54 and 18-34. CNN Digital saw 22 million unique visitors on Saturday, including 17 million video starts and 1.9 million live starts on the live stream of the wedding.
