Creating a Smash Hit
Custom Music • Sound Design • Experiences
The 2025 MLB All-Star Game in Atlanta was the perfect stage to honor one of baseball’s most iconic figures, Hank Aaron. It was here that he hit home run #715, breaking Babe Ruth’s long-standing record and shattering equality barriers. Fifty-one years later – on 7/15, no less – Image Engineering was tasked with bringing that historic moment to life through an immersive, projection-mapped, pyrotechnic-filled spectacle. They turned to SAM to craft the music and sound design that would drive it all home.
The brief was simple: bring the audience to tears. The SAM creative team did just that, crafting a cinematic score reminiscent of beloved baseball classics like The Natural and Field of Dreams. Archival audio including Vin Scully’s legendary call was meticulously restored for clarity and emotional resonance, and sound design elements, such as a heartbeat and crack of the bat, helped draw the audience even deeper into the moment.
From Billye Aaron and family, to the teams lining the field, to fans in attendance and around the globe, everyone was moved by the presentation. It has been praised as an epic, unforgettable tribute, and SAM was pleased to have played our part.
