CNN is a global leader in breaking news and transformative storytelling, so when it came to developing a new sonic identity for CNN News Central, the network’s 6-hour daily programming block originating from its New York and DC studios, the sound would have to be bold and inspirational, while also uniquely bringing out the network’s personality.

SAM’s audio branding experts were asked to create a thematic music package, bringing fresh energy to the news block while reimagining CNN’s iconic sonic brand. The custom music package centers on a confident and uplifting main theme with all live orchestration including arpeggiated strings, soaring horns, and swelling percussion.
